Tuija Teiska – I feel (love)
I feel (love) is an exhibition of feelings, the main one of which is love.
The feelings we collect and store in our memories. The feelings that make us human, present and meaningful to ourselves and to each other.
The theme of the exhibition does not deal with romantic love, but with the human need to feel that he exists, that he is relevant to other people and his environment. Love in loneliness, longing, remembering, and being remembered. The works also reflect on what self-love is — self-respect, togetherness.

Making of Lea
Making of Lea is a hilarious farce comedy written by Finlandia award winner Juha Hurmee from the beginnings of Finnish theatre. Completing the first Finnish-language play is hampered by the theater company’s complete lack of money, writer Aleksis Kive’s ever-increasing thirst for alcohol, the holy hatred of the critics, and the fact that the lead actor does not know Finnish at all – and neither does anyone else!
When you add inconceivable role changes, a fake doctor, a psychic, choral singing and rubber palms to the broth, the soup is ready.

Cherry park
A melancholy comedy about the past and the future
Anton Chekhov’s last, mature classic work is a wistfully hilarious and sad comedy. The scene of the play is a dilapidated mansion where generations meet. Fear of change, uncertainty, and selfish aspirations collide with romantic longing. This is a very interesting reinterpretation of a classic.
How difficult it is to detach from the old and face the new when the whole world seems to be in constant motion! For some, the consequences are tragic, others are lucky, and there are also those who are just amused by the comic carousel of life. This all ripples and bubbles to the surface in a show that lovingly empathizes with the destinies of its characters.

Ruisräikkä first evening
Ruisräikkä tells poet Eino Leino’s stories about the afterlife.
The year is 2023. Eino Leino lives in a room called eternity. The poet’s cloak has been put in the closet. The days are filled with tinkering with inventions and socializing with friends. There’s time, for once… In the room of Eternity, Eino is accompanied by singer Yrjö Jyrinkoski, actress Ella Eronen, Oulujärvi fisherman Martti and housekeeper Marjatta. One morning, the peace of the afterlife is shattered when a letter arrives from an authoritative source, an order that cannot be ignored.
Ruisräikka is a puppet show for adults that is rare in its genre. In it, the lofty eves of poems, childhood games and pranks compete equally for attention.

Community art exhibition of ravens in Kajaani
During autumn 2022, the artists of Kulttura’s community art project have worked in all of the
municipalities of Kainuu. The starting point of the Korpie community art project is children and young people working from ideas, supported by the artist. The purpose of community art has also been to bring together municipal residents of different ages, to create spaces for being together and for experiencing, as well as bringing out the own expression and thoughts of middle school students in particular.
The exhibition presents the works of completed community art projects as well as the making process. The community art projects carried out in the municipality were created with a variety of working methods and techniques. In Suomussalmi, they worked on word art and performed a rap song, Puolanga participants dug kaolin clay from the ground and made a ceramics exhibition in the center of the village using local clay as a material. Ristijärvi’s part consisted of the Ristijärvi Art Center, which was open to everyone during the fall vacation week at the village hall, with various environmental-themed art workstations. In Sotkamo, comics were made in the form of zines, i.e. own small publications, at middle schools, book fairs and youth centers. In Kajaani and Sotkamo, they worked on shadow art, and in Hyrynsalmi, verbal art workshops were held with all age groups of the unified school.
Totti Korpua (Sotkamo), Hanna Kaisa Vainio (Hyrynsalmi/Poland), Uma Nissi (Suomussalmi), Paula Vilmi (Kajaani/Kuhmo) and Tiina Arjukka Hirvonen (Ristijärvi/Paltamo) have worked as community artists in the project.
The exhibition is on display in the art alley of the Kajaani library until January, part of the exhibition is also at the Sotkamo library at the same time.
The Kainuu Children’s and Youth Cultural Center will organize a guided tour of the exhibition in the taidekujalla on Wednesday, January 18. at 5 pm, welcome!
The community art project has been implemented with a grant from the Art Promotion Center.
The project is coordinated by Kainuu Children and Youth Culture Center Kulttura ry.
